Master Qvevri Maker
$195 – $1,195
Georgia is the world’s oldest winemaking country, and the wines are traditionally fermented and stored underground in clay vessels known as Qvevri. Zaliko Bodjadze is one the masters qvevri makers — and like many Georgians, he makes his own chacha (brandy) in his backyard. After a visit to his warehouse, he took me back to his house and we had many hours of drinking and toasting. I think I woke up in Russia.
